On your SAMS landing page, click on My Profile 2. A small menu will appear on the next page, click on Change My Email 3. Change your email address in the bottom field and then click on Submit Once you have changed your email address in NHSN, then you can go ahead and change your email address in the SAMS system.

Once confirmed, SAMS will send you a “Welcome to SAMS” email as well as a SAMS Grid Card mailed to hour residential/home address via USPS mail. Acute Care Hospitals (ACH) are hospitals that provide short-term patient care, whereas Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) are small facilities that give limited outpatient and inpatient hospital services to people in rural areas. Acute care is being a patient in a Hospital rather than an Urgent Care center.

Critical access hospitals are important because they offer more affordable, accessible healthcare to individuals living in rural areas.

The CAH negotiates reimbursem*nt through an agreement with the hospice. In addition to the 25 inpatient CAH beds, a CAH may also operate a psychiatric and/or a rehabilitation distinct part unit of up to 10 beds each. These units must comply with the Hospital Conditions of Participation.
