🚨 Beware: quishing is the new phishing! Hackers are becoming bolder and bolder. Bank customers and some media outlets have reported that a new scam is going around: phishing via letter/QR code, known as quishing! 📲✉️ Victims receive a letter, often without any spelling or punctuation errors, informing them about essential security measures linked to their financial transactions. The letter says that incidents of fraud have been detected with the usual photoTan security procedure, and that this is why the update is needed. Recipients are then instructed to scan a QR code, falling into the trap set up by the fraudsters. After scanning the code, they are prompted to enter their account details, potentially giving hackers access to their accounts. 💳🖐️ Here are five tips on how to protect yourself from quishing. Note: While no cases of fraud have been reported involving our brand to date, we want everyone to be aware of this new scam.#Quishing #Phishing #CyberSecurity

𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒔: A tale of a bank in a divided city 🏛️Did you know that for over 40 years – from 1949 to 1991 – Deutsche Bank operated under a different name in Berlin? 🤔Following World War II, private banks were no longer allowed to operate in the Soviet-controlled, eastern part of Berlin. In West Berlin, this was still possible but the Allied powers prohibited banks from using their old names. They also broke the major German banks up into regional ones.Headquartered in East Berlin, Deutsche Bank needed a solution for its West Berlin operations. This is how Berliner Disconto Bank was created on 20 August 1949 in the western part of the city. The bank served customers in 79 branches across West Berlin until the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany. This fascinating story reminds us of the resilience of businesses and their ability to adapt and innovate during times of immense change. "We operate in a zero-trust environment" 🔒 This phrase is more than a cybersecurity buzzword; it's a must in today's interconnected world. With cybercrime on the rise and the skills gap widening, we must adopt a proactive, ecosystem-wide approach to digital security. We spoke to Gretchen Bueermann, Knowledge Lead for Cybersecurity at the World Economic Forum (WEF), about vulnerabilities in value chains, data theft, blackmail, and gaps in cyber skills. She points to an oft-cited statistic that shows that by 2030, there could be a global talent shortage of as many as 85 million workers in the area of cybersecurity. This shortage would leave companies vulnerable and ill-equipped to face evolving threats.
